In the quiet misty morning when the moon has gone to bed,
When the sparrows stop their singing and the sky is clear and red.
When the summer’s ceased its gleaming,
When the corn is past its prime,
When adventure’s lost its meaning,
I’ll be homeward bound in time.
Bind me not to the pasture, chain me not to the plow.
Set me free to find my calling and I’ll return to you somehow.
If you find it’s me you're missing, if you’re hoping I’ll return.
To your thoughts I’ll soon be list’ning, and in the road I’ll stop and turn.
Then the wind will set me racing as my journey nears its end.
And the path I’ll be retracing when I’m homeward bound again.
Bind me not to the pasture, chain me not to the plow.
Set me free to find my calling and I’ll return to you somehow.
In the quiet misty morning when the moon has gone to bed,
When the sparrows stop their singing,
I’ll be homeward bound again.

I don't even know you but I grew up with Brittany so I see your blog occasionally. Sorry about your dad, I can't imagine how difficult. God bless.
I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I'd been reading your family blog, and was amazed by the positive attitude you all had during this difficult time. What an example to all.
I'm sure this is a very difficult time for you guys- but you all have such a positive and faithful outlook... you're a great inspiritation! We will be praying for you guys for comfort!
Jon, I am sorry to hear about the passing of your father. I know you probably don't remember me, but I have been reading the blog frequently and have had your and your extended family in my thoughts and prayers. You and your family are amazing examples of faith and pure love.
Jon, I'm so sorry about the passing of your dad. I can't even imagine what you and your family are going through right now. One of the great things about the church is the knowledge we have about the after life. It's so comforting to know that we'll see family members again. You're in my prayers.
Jon and Ashley,
We are so sorry to hear about your dad. I feel so awful. Yet at the same time, I'm happy that he isn't suffering anymore as I am sure you are to. Please let us know if there is anything we can do.
We love you guys and have you in our prayers,
Zach and Katie

Just thought I would leave a note on behalf of Brandon and me on how truly sorry we are for your loss.
I have checked on your blog a few times (though I still can't remember how I came across it! :-), and was sad to hear about Jon's dad. Brandon and I are praying for you and your family at this difficult time.
I know you must be very busy, but if you get a chance please let us know what address you will be using.
All our sympathies-
Brandon and Erica Wilkinson

Jon/Ashley -
I am Emily Roche's sister in law, and though you don't know me personally, I just want you to know what an inspiration your simple blogging about your dad is. I can't imagine what a difficult time it is, but thank you for the strength of your words. Our prayers are with your family.

jon, i'm so sorry to hear about your dad. when stuff like this happens, it's hard for an outsider to even know what to say, because nothing usually seems appropriate or even helpful. but i know that families are eternal and that your dad isn't in any pain anymore. you are an amazing person and i'm sure that's because you were raised by such an amazing father. our prayers are with you and your family. much love.
love,
jake and jenna vela
My heart is aching right now for your lose. I am so so sorry!

Dear Jon & Ashley,
I am so, so sorry about the loss of your dad. When I heard, my heart just sunk...I hope that you will feel peace and comfort from the Lord at this time. This must be so difficult, and having recently lost my sweet baby...I can somewhat relate to the pain. I know it's not exactly the same, but I just want you to know that I am praying for you and your family. The only thing that get's me through it is knowing that the Plan of Salvation is real and that you will be with your father again, soon. This life is so hard & imperfect...but all will be made whole when we return to Him. I hope you are feeling the love & support of may people who love and admire both of you. Please let us know if there is anything you need. Love to you, Caitlin & Brig Wilson
My heart aches for you right now. What an amazing man! I didn't know him much but what a big heart and impressive courage and outlook on life he had! He will do wonders from the other side. Your family is in our prayers. Lots of love, B and Nattie
So sorry to hear about the passing of your Father. I'm glad to know you have the comfort of the gospel in such a trying time. You are such a great example to all in your positive attitude.
Greg and I have thought of you a lot lately and feel sick for what you are going through. You are a great guy so your dad must have taught you well. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I am so sorry to hear about Jon's dad. It is such a small world- my mom has been telling me about a family in her ward that is enduring a terrible tradgedy- turns out it is Jon's family. I just put two and two together when I was looking at your blog today. My mom has always had such wonderful things about your family. I am so sorry for your loss- you are in our thoughts and prayers.
The Bindels
PS My mom is Sandy Teraci
My heart goes out to you and your family at this trying time. i am so sorry to hear of your loss. You guys are in my constant thoughts and prayers. May the lord be with you through this trial in your life!! He sounds like he was a wonderful man and i am sure he will be missed. If you need anything pleas let me know!!
Big hugs!!
Ash,
Sarah told me. I am heartbroken- yet strengthened by the faith of your family. Dan knows how it feels, and I know that he still thinks of his father everyday with a recognition that he is very much still a part of our lives. We love you.
Bree
Hi Ashley and Jon, this is Emily McGuire. Lisanne told me about your dad. I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how difficult that is to lose a parent. You are great examples of amazing faith. Your family will be in our prayers. (your little girl is so, so cute.)
